Resetting a Connected by August Yale Lock

A factory reset erases all guest and owner data from your lock, restoring it back to its original, out-of-the-box settings. It also removes the lock from any owner or guest keychains that it is affiliated with.

There are two ways to factory reset a Connected by August Yale Lock:

1) via August app

 2) doing a hard reset on the Yale lock.

Please note, for this process, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver, wifi credentials for the unit you'll be working on, and the Master Code for the lock.

Factory Reset instructions from August App:

Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset on your lock:

  1. On your phone, open the August App, choose the unit and go to the lock circle screen, which is the screen that shows you whether your door is locked or unlocked.
  2. Select the Settings menu (gear icon).
  3. Select the Lock Settings of the unit you are resetting
  4. Scroll to factory reset.
  5. Select "Reset Lock".

These steps should restore your lock to its factory settings.
     6. Create a new Master Code on the lock by entering the following sequence onto the keypad:
    User-added image 1 User-added image Mastercode User-added image
     7. Activate Network settings, on the lock:
       Mastercode User-added image 7 User-added image User-added image

You will now need to add the lock and Connect bridge back to your August app:

With the button still pressed, reinsert the batteries and continue to hold down the button for no less than 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, remove your finger from the reset button, you will then hear the lock make a noise.
